Latin music is known for the sensual undertones of its lyrics and melodies, rhythmic drumming and danceable beats, and also for the wide range of talented—and beautiful—men who perform it.

In fact, a lot of marketing for Latin male vocalists comes from emphasizing the singer's sex appeal. For this reason, flamboyant costumes and seductive hip movements abound in the following list of the 10 hottest male stars of the Latin music scene.

From Chayanne and Chino to Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias, discover the history of these dynamic artists and see what all the fuss is about!

The first crushworthy artist on our list is Puerto Rican singer Chayanne, who got his start in the late 1970s with the popular group Los Chicos, producing several hit records, including "Ave Maria" and "Puerto Rico Son Los Chicos."

However, Los Chicos broke up in 1984, and Chayanne started a solo career that would result in 21 solo albums and the sale of more than 30 million albums worldwide. Chayanne also went on to become a film actor, providing the Spanish-language voiceover for Flynn Rider in Disney's hit 2010 animation "Tangled."

This Puerto Rican singer is widely considered one of the hottest male Latin music stars in the world, though unfortunately for the single ladies reading this, he's been happily married since 1992 to former Venezuelan beauty queen Marilisa Maronese, and the two of them live in Miami with their two children.

As part of the smash sensation duo Chino y Nacho, which broke up in February of 2017, Jesús Alberto Miranda Pérez—better known as Chino—gained popularity as one of the hottest Latin performers.

The duo formed in 2008 in Venezuela after the two broke from their former boy band Calle Ciaga. Together they released five albums and won several Grammy and Latin Grammy awards before their split due to "creative differences and solo careers."

Their music is traditionally a combination of Latin reggaeton with a mix of salsa and merengue, creating a youthful and energetic sound that harkens back to the sex appeal of their boy band days.

Reggaeton and Latin urban sensation artist Daddy Yankee has gathered lots of fans thanks to his talent and looks, but he's best known for pioneering the genre as "The King of Reggaeton."

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, he originally aspired to be a professional baseball player, though he failed to make the cut for the Seattle Mariners.

Instead, Daddy Yankee went on to make history with the creation of his album "Barrio Fino," which became the top-selling Latin album of the decade from 2000 to 2009. In 2010 he hit No. 29 on Billboard's album chart and had a No. 1 in 2017 with Luis Fonsi, featuring Justin Bieber, "Despacito."

Just like his father, the legendary Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias is known for his Latin pop songs but also for his heartthrob status.

Along with Ricky Martin (later on this list), Iglesias is one of the most recognized names in Latin pop in the United States, mostly due to his crossover success on the track "Bailamos" on the "Wild Wild West" soundtrack, which in turn led to a full English album, "Enrique."

Also known as the King of Latin Pop, Iglesias has sold more than 170 million records worldwide and been involved with multiple recording studios to produce both English and Spanish albums.

Cuban-American actor and singer Jencarlos Canela has gathered lots of fans thanks to his good looks and talent behind the mic and on the screen, though unlike most Latin artists on this list he was born in the United States—specifically in Miami, Florida, to Cuban parents.

Canela started his career at 12 years old as the lead singer for a boy band called Boom Boom Pop but left the group two years later in 2002 to pursue a solo career.

In 2007, he made his acting debut in "Pecados Ajenos," a popular telenovela program for which he wrote the theme song. He later appeared in a number of other telenovelas before landing the lead role of Jesus Christ in a Fox musical production of "The Passion" in 2016 and garnering a recurring role on the series "Grand Hotel" as—you guessed it—a recording artist.

For several years, Luis Miguel has been considered one of the sexiest Latin music stars ever, earning him the title "El Sol De México," or "The Sun of Mexico."

Luis Miguel is known for performing everything from ballads to boleros and mariachi to salsa, setting him apart as the most diverse Latin artist perhaps of all time.

In fact, he won his first Latin Grammy Award at the age of 14, in 1982 for his duet with Sheena Easton titled "Me Gusta Tal Como Eres," and has since gone on to sell more than 100 million records throughout his career.

Besides his enormous popularity as one of today's most influential Latin music singers, the fresh and irreverent look of Colombian singer Juanes has enhanced the general appeal of his music.

Juanes is a contracted form of this singer's first and second name Juan Esteban (Aristizábal Vásquez), but he didn't change his name until after he'd already achieved commercial success with the rock band Ekhymosis.

His 2000 debut album, titled "Fíjate Bien," sold 15 million records, earned three Latin Grammy Awards, and propelled Juanes into the hearts and radios of listeners around the world. The lead single off his fourth record,
"La Vida...Es un Ratico," had gone to No. 1 in 14 countries by the time it came out in 2007. Since his debut, he's gone on to win 23 more Latin Grammy Awards as well as two additional Grammy Awards for his music. He released his seventh studio album in 2017.

With his fresh image and sweet voice, bachata music sensation Prince Royce has become one of today's hottest Latin music stars worldwide.

Originally from the Bronx, New York, Geoffrey Royce Rojas released his self-titled first album in 2010, which went on to rank highly on the Billboard Latin Music Charts. Since then, he's released more albums, often collaborating with artists like Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and even Snoop Dogg. His fifth, imaginatively titled "Five," hit No. 25 on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart and No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart.

Also of note, like Juanes, Prince Royce starred in the 2016 Fox release "The Passion," where he played the role of Saint Peter. He has also been a recurring cast member of the Hulu original teen drama "East Los High" and the series
"Elena of Avalor."

Since the times of "Livin' La Vida Loca," Ricky Martin has been considered one of the hottest Latin music stars ever. His sexy dance moves and model-like appearance have allowed Martin to thrive as one of the sexiest Latin music stars.

Martin got his start at age 12 as a member of the boy band Menudo but left after five years to pursue a solo career, releasing five Spanish-language albums in the 1990s, gaining him mild fame in Mexico. It wasn't until the mid-1990s and his role as a Puerto Rican singer on the hit American soap opera "General Hospital" that Martin got international recognition.

At the turn of the century, Martin released "Livin' La Vida Loca" after performing "The Cup of Life" (the theme song for the World Cup) at the 41st Grammy Awards, which skyrocketed Latin music to the forefront of the American music scene. He's since released his 10th album, "A Quien Quiera Escuchar," which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in 2015 and No. 20 on the Top 200.

Since the time he was with the bachata boy band Aventura, Romeo Santos has transformed himself into one of the most romantic singers in Latin music. His cool, fresh look has allowed him to be considered one of today's hottest Latin stars.

Another Bronx-born artist, Santos stayed with Aventura from its formation in 1997 through its eventually breaking apart (to pursue "solo passions") in 2011, though the group has gotten back together numerous times to perform their hits to sold-out crowds.

Since 2011, though, Santos has gone on to release four top-ranking albums on the Billboard Latin Music Charts (three have cracked the Top 10 on the Top 200 Albums chart), earning him international recognition as a true crooner and representative of Latin music in America.
