When and where is Tiger Woods' next tournament? The superstar golfer is back in the winner's circle after claiming the 2018 season-ending Tour Championship. And he's a major champion again after winning the 2019 Masters Tournament.

Tiger Woods' Confirmed Next Tournaments

Woods is famous for hating to confirm his appearance in a tournament far in advance. He often doesn't make announcements of where he is playing until close to the deadline for doing so (which is the Friday of the preceding week).

Woods' confirmed upcoming tournaments in 2019 so far include only the remaining majors a new event in Japan that will be part of the 2019-20 schedule:

  • May 16-19: PGA Championship at Bethpage (Black) State Park in Bethpage, N.Y.
  • June 13-16: U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf LInks in Pebble Beach, Calif.
  • July 18-21: British Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland
  • October, TBA; ZOZO Championship in Japan

Woods has four in the PGA Championship, three wins each in the U.S. Open and British Open. Woods has never played Royal Portrush, making its first Open rota appearance since 1951, in a tournament setting. He won the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. At Pebble Beach, Woods won the 2000 U.S. Open the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2000.

Likely Tournaments on Woods' Schedule

While Woods has only confirmed the four tournaments above, we can make educated guesses about other tournaments he is likely to play because Woods tends to play most of the same events each year.

But he does plan to play fewer events in 2019 that he did in 2018. And that has already affected on tournament: Wood will not play one of is usual stops this year, the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C.

But it will be very surprising if Woods' schedule does not include Jack Nicklaus' tournament:

  • May 30-June 2: The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio

Woods' Remaining Schedule Is Questionable

The rest of Woods' 2019 schedule is up in the air, even though there are other tournaments that, in years past, Woods would be considered a shoo-in to play.

Then there are the World Golf Championships (WGC) tournaments. The third WGC event is the FedEx St. Jude Invitational, which, in 2019, moves to a slot on the schedule one week after the British Open. And that puts the St. Jude in question for Woods' schedule.

The Playoff Tournaments

The season-ending FedEx Cup playoffs consist of just three tournaments in 2019 rather than four as in previous years, and we should expect Woods to play them all. Those tournaments are:

  • Aug. 8-11: The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J.
  • Aug. 15-18: BMW Championship at Medinah Country Club (No. 3 course) in Medinah, Ill.
  • Aug. 22-25: Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.
  • Adam Scott tees off at Bethpage Black in a 2016 tournament.
